Dimensional Letters & Logo Signs for Southeast Texas Businesses

Dimensional letters and logo signs are flat-cut or three-dimensional fabricated elements mounted directly to a building or wall. Unlike printed graphics or flat signage, they project from the surface — creating depth, shadow, and a sense of permanence that printed panels cannot replicate. They are widely used for exterior storefront identification, office park entry signs, and interior lobby walls where a high-quality brand impression matters.

What to know before you order.

The most important variable for dimensional letters is viewing distance. Interior letters viewed at 10–15 feet can be smaller and more detailed. Exterior letters visible from across a parking lot or from a moving vehicle need simpler letterforms and larger scale. As a general rule, letters need to be at least 1" tall for every 10 feet of viewing distance. Share your wall photo and the distance from which customers will see the sign and we can size the letters accordingly.

Good to know before ordering

Dimensional letters are a permanent or semi-permanent installation. For temporary campaigns, trade show applications beyond a single event, or spaces where landlords restrict permanent attachments, high-quality printed vinyl or printed foam board displays are a practical alternative. Dimensional elements also require a wall surface capable of supporting the attachment hardware — very thin or hollow partition walls may not be suitable.

Questions About Dimensional Letters & Logo Signs

What is the difference between dimensional letters and channel letters?

Dimensional letters are flat-cut or fabricated shapes mounted directly to a surface — they have depth, but they are not illuminated from within. Channel letters are individually fabricated hollow letter cabinets with internal LED lighting that illuminates the face or creates a halo. Dimensional letters can be non-illuminated or externally lit (by a spotlight or sconce). Channel letters are self-illuminated and visible at night without external lighting.

Can dimensional letters be used outside?

Yes, if the material is appropriate. Aluminum and stainless steel dimensional letters are fully suitable for exterior applications and will not corrode or fade. Acrylic exterior letters should use UV-stable material to prevent yellowing. PVC and HDU foam are less durable outdoors and are generally limited to protected exterior locations or temporary applications.

How are dimensional letters attached to the building?

Most dimensional letters use one of two methods: direct adhesive bonding (for smooth surfaces like glass, metal, or painted drywall) or stud-mount anchoring (small threaded rods drilled through the letter and anchored into the wall). Stud mounting is more secure and the standard for exterior applications or heavier materials. We provide a template for anchor hole placement so the installation is precise.

Can I light dimensional letters without channel letters?

Yes — external lighting is a common option. A ground-mounted spotlight, overhead gooseneck fixture, or recessed wall light can illuminate dimensional letters effectively, especially at night. This approach is less expensive than channel letters while still providing nighttime visibility. We can advise on placement and fixture type based on your sign design.

What file format do I need to provide for my logo?

A vector file — AI, EPS, or SVG — is ideal because it scales without quality loss and allows us to cut exact shapes from your artwork. If you only have a raster file (JPEG, PNG), we can often recreate your logo in vector format for a small additional fee. The cleaner and simpler your logo, the easier and less expensive dimensional fabrication will be.
