Custom Postcards for Direct Mail and Local Promotions

Postcards are one of the highest-impact direct mail formats available to local businesses. Unlike envelopes, a postcard shows your message the moment someone picks it up — no opening required. They are used for direct mail campaigns to neighborhoods, customer follow-ups, grand opening announcements, seasonal promotions, real estate prospecting, restaurant offers, and any campaign where reaching a specific geographic area or customer list matters.

What to know before you order.

A successful postcard has one compelling offer, one strong headline, and one clear action. The front should stop someone from dropping it in the recycling bin — a bold visual, a strong offer, or a provocative question. The back is for address, postage, and supporting detail. Include a QR code or short URL so responses can be tracked per campaign.

Good to know before ordering

Postcards require a mailing list or USPS Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) targeting to reach recipients — we print postcards but do not handle mailing fulfillment. If you need a broad-reach message without a specific list, pairing postcards with a local flyer drop or digital campaign may give better coverage. Postcards also have less space than brochures, so they work for single-offer campaigns, not complex service explanations.

Questions About Postcards

What is the most cost-effective postcard size for mailing?

The 4"×6" postcard qualifies for the standard USPS postcard postage rate — currently the lowest first-class rate available. Anything larger (5"×7", 6"×9") requires letter-rate postage, which costs more per piece. For high-volume campaigns where mailing cost is a major factor, 4"×6" is the most economical. For lower-volume campaigns where standing out in the mailbox matters more than cost-per-piece, 6"×9" has significantly better response rates.

Can postcards be used for real estate prospecting?

Yes — postcards are one of the most widely used tools in real estate marketing. Just listed, just sold, market update, open house, and neighborhood farm postcards are all standard formats. A consistent postcard campaign to a defined neighborhood builds name recognition over multiple touches — most real estate postcard strategies repeat the same area every 4–6 weeks.

How do I track postcard campaign results?

Use a unique QR code or short URL on each postcard campaign so you can see exactly how many scans or visits came from that mailing. A dedicated phone number or promo code on the postcard also allows tracking. Without a tracking mechanism, it is very difficult to measure direct mail ROI accurately.
