Custom Acrylic Signs for Professional Offices and Lobbies

Acrylic signs offer a premium, polished appearance that is a step above standard rigid signage. The material — a clear or colored plexiglass-type panel — gives signs a modern, professional look that works exceptionally well in lobbies, reception areas, conference rooms, office walls, retail displays, and upscale commercial environments. Acrylic can be printed, engraved, or laser-cut and is available in clear, frosted, colored, and mirrored finishes.

What to know before you order.

Clear acrylic with standoff hardware creates the classic floating sign effect popular in modern lobbies — the shadow behind the panel adds depth and dimension that looks significantly more expensive than it is. For logos and branding, full-color UV printing on the back surface of clear acrylic (second-surface printing) gives a protected, glass-smooth print that cannot be scratched from the front.

Good to know before ordering

Acrylic is not recommended for outdoor use — UV exposure causes yellowing and brittleness over time. For outdoor business identification, aluminum composite or aluminum panel signs are the appropriate material. Acrylic is also more fragile than metal or PVC in high-traffic areas where the sign might take physical contact.

Questions About Acrylic Signs

What is the difference between acrylic and PVC signs?

Acrylic (plexiglass) has a glass-like clarity and a premium, polished appearance — especially in clear form. PVC is a solid white or colored rigid foam board that looks more like standard plastic. Acrylic is the right choice for upscale environments where appearance matters. PVC is more cost-effective for standard interior applications where premium finish is not required.

What does a standoff mount look like?

Standoff hardware consists of small metal cylinders (usually chrome or black) that hold the acrylic panel slightly away from the wall — typically 1/2" to 1" gap. The panel appears to float off the surface, creating a shadow that adds depth and a high-end architectural feel. It is the most popular mounting style for lobby and reception acrylic signs.

Can acrylic signs include full-color logos and photography?

Yes. UV printing on acrylic produces vivid, full-color results including gradients, photography, and complex graphics. For the clearest and most protected result, we print on the back surface of clear acrylic — the ink is protected by the thickness of the panel and the front surface remains perfectly smooth and scratchproof.
